Advancing education for the Earth

At the Center for Climate Literacy, we believe that every young person deserves an education that will prepare them to thrive in a climate changing world. 

We advocate for leveraging stories, fiction and nonfiction, to cultivate young people’s climate literacy while meeting content area learning standards. To do so, we use stories for young people to cultivate climate literacy while meeting content area learning standards.

Our goals are practical, transformative, and scalable. And we believe that teachers are best situated to help facilitate this change.

We are teachers supporting teachers

The Center for Climate Literacy is comprised of teachers and teacher-educators who understand what it means to be in the classroom. We trust and value teacher knowledge and expertise, and we strive to make professional development as accessible as possible. No teacher will ever need to pay to access our resources.

Climate literacy is an Earth civics, a capacity that includes climate sciences but centers developing values, attitudes, and ways of understanding aligned with planetary well-being. Everyone is invited to get involved.
