Offered in collaboration from and with support by the UMN Institute for Global Studies, the Center's Schools for the Planet Summer Institute brings together K-16 educators across all content areas to deepen their understanding and practice of climate literacy education. Participants explore climate literacy as a broad, socioscientific competence that focuses primarily on values, attitudes, and ways of living aligned with our planetary home. In addition to earning continuing education credits (CEUs), participants will come away with ready-to-teach materials for their specific classroom.
Registration for the 2026 version is now closed. Registration for the next iteration will open in early 2027.
