Alex Panos is an Assistant Professor in the Literacy Studies Program at the University of South Florida. Prior to joining USF, she served as an Assistant Professor of Elementary Literacy at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Dr. Panos’s research interests include critical, disciplinary, and media literacy, childrens' literature, spatial and geographic dimensions of education, and the complex interdependencies of schools and their communities. 

Catherine Cavanaugh is a Lecturer in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction within the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Prior to receiving her PhD from Fordham University, she was an elementary educator.

I am interested in looking at ways to actively foster sustainable values to transition towards a more conscious society, one where I believe children’s literature and education plays a key role.
